Some Updates!

If you’ve been following along on my social media, you’ll know that my life has seen some pretty major changes recently. As of August 15, 2022, I officially started my graduate school career with the University of Waterloo to obtain my Master’s of Social Work (MSW)!!! It’s an exciting new chapter of my professional journey, but one that means a big shift in my life over the next year.

In order to practice what I preach and ensure my life is realistically balanced in a way that will support my mental and physical health, there will be some changes to Simply Social Work while I am in grad school.

My YouTube channel and this blog will be changing from a biweekly posting schedule to more of an “as able” schedule. My priority is still to produce high-quality content, and I recognize that that means reducing the frequency in order to work with my limited time constraints. I would rather sacrifice quantity than quality.

My social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) will continue to feature regular short video (reels) and photo content (grid posts) on all things mental health, caregiver wellness, and chronic illness.

You may have noticed the addition of Shorts to my YouTube channel, and this will stay consistent moving forwards each week. Simply Social Work is also about sharing my life lessons and struggles with you, and so it will likely feature my life as a social work grad student and things I’m learning along the way in addition to the current content.

I have received so much love and support in the year since creating this space. My goal was to create a positive and encouraging community – and I definitely feel that we have really grown something special together. I hope to continue to grow the space as I share not just support with you, but also my own human experience.

Much love! xx
